Portada » About Me
Since I was very young I remember wanting to dedicate myself to this wonderful profession in which today I am very fortunate to practice.
I consider myself a passionate person in my work, I love to explore each story with care and attention, as well as to learn about the new contributions that psychology offers us.
In this space you will be able to discover a little more about my way of working. Feel free to browse and research the web. I hope this approach can help you make the decision you need.
Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work in contexts that have enriched me greatly, both professionally and personally.
My clinical practice began in AFEMAC, an association dedicated to people with mental health problems and their families.
Working with people referred by the Andalusian Health Service provided me with indispensable learning for the treatment and understanding of problems in disadvantaged contexts.
Afterwards, I dedicated myself to working with elderly people with different levels of cognitive impairment, as well as with their family members.
Afterwards, I worked at the Applied Psychology Center of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. This experience marked a before and after in my work methodology, giving solidity and firmness to the application of the therapy that I apply today.
During this time, I have also collaborated in several researches, creation of articles, workshops and volunteering. All this has contributed to nurturing my professional career.
Currently, I consult independently in my office located in Madrid. I feel very fortunate to be able to shape my professional home. Undoubtedly, each of these experiences have left their mark on my path, have added to me and have allowed me to dedicate myself today to address various problems without losing sight of a scientific and human approach.
In 2017 I graduated in Psychology from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
Afterwards, I completed a Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology at the University of Jaén, which enabled me to qualify for professional practice.
Since I started, I have taken different trainings that have contributed to the enrichment of my approach. These include subjects such as suicide, gender violence, functional analysis, etc.
Currently, I am doing my Master in Contextual Therapies at the Madrid Institute of Contextual Psychology (MICPSY) directed by Carmen Luciano and her team, who are a national and international reference in psychology.
I hope these lines can help you visualize the landscape of what it would be like to start working together. I look forward to seeing you in consultation! 😊
"I started therapy with Desiree a couple of months ago and the truth is that I could not be happier and more comfortable with all the work we are doing. In each session you can see her involvement with the case and she always explains everything in the clearest and most orderly way possible, allowing for flexibility. At the time it was hard for me to decide on a psychologist but without a doubt I think it has been a complete success :)"
"In the last few visits I feel more and more the progress I am making. Desiree always makes me feel comfortable and safe to be able to share my vulnerability a little bit with her and I appreciate it a lot. Doing the online consultation has not made it difficult for me in any way."
"Desiree has been an excellent therapist: punctual, empathetic, understanding and honest. She has been able to provide me with the most appropriate resources and techniques to help me deal with my problems correctly."
